The island of Rab, although rather large and undeniably beautiful, is not one of the top tourist destinations in Croatia. Therefore, accommodation is less than in other parts of the country, but there are plenty of flats for rent, which the locals leave at the disposal of holidaymakers for the summer months.
Holiday homes on Rab are scattered more or less throughout the island’s settlements, with a greater concentration in the three main towns: Lopar, Rab town and Barbat na Rabu. Along the west coast there are also many outside the settlements, directly on the island’s main road, number 105.
Those looking for a seaside flat close to the beach will literally be spoilt for choice: there are some near the coves and inlets of the northern part of the island, and in addition, many of the beaches in Rab’s main resorts have houses literally by the sea.
If, on the other hand, you are looking for peace and quiet and, why not, cheap flats, then head south along the west coast of Rab. Past the village of Barbat na Rabu, you will discover a more authentic side of the island, less beaten by tourism, where you can spend your days relaxing.
The advantage of choosing a flat over a hotel lies above all in the independence: you will not have to abide by the strict rules of a hotel, and you will be able to use the kitchen to prepare meals according to your tastes. At the same time, you can do your laundry using the washing machine, or do your shopping in the supermarket, feeling right at home.
The flats in Rab are simple but will certainly meet all the needs of international travellers. Don’t forget to check that they include the basic amenities you just can’t do without, such as air conditioning, parking, wi-fi or satellite TV.
The following are the flats we recommend you book for your holiday on the island of Rab.
