Climate in Zagreb: best time to visit, weather by month, temperature

Given its location, Zagreb attracts many visitors during the summer season when the warm, sunny days allow visitors to fully appreciate the city’s wonders.

In winter, the coldest months are December, January and February, when temperatures can drop as low as a few degrees below zero, and sometimes it can even snow. Visiting the city in winter means not only living with the cold but also enjoying fewer hours of daylight, but visiting Zagreb during the Christmas period can be a truly unique experience: between December and January, beautiful Christmas markets are set up and the atmosphere in the city is truly magical.

From the end of March, on the other hand, the arrival of spring makes the climate milder and several sunny days begin to appear. Summer presents itself as the most suitable season to visit this resort. June, July and August are the best months to visit Zagreb due to the many hours of daylight and the warm, sunny weather with temperatures of around 27°. Just one caveat: be careful if you choose June as the month to organise your stay in the city because although temperatures hover around 23°, this is often one of the rainiest months of the year. Finally, September is also a good month to organise a trip to Zagreb as temperatures are still pleasant and the city certainly enjoys a smaller flow of tourists.
